Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has declared that his administration will never engage in negotiations with terrorists, insisting on confronting insecurity through robust security operations instead of dialogue with bandits.
Speaking amid growing concerns over persistent attacks in the state, Governor Lawal rejected calls for peace talks with armed groups, describing such an approach as unacceptable and counterproductive.
“I do not accept that terrorists are stronger than the government. Therefore, as Governor of Zamfara State, I maintain that I will not negotiate with terrorists,” Lawal stated firmly.
He questioned the effectiveness of negotiations in other states, asking whether attacks had completely stopped even where such deals were attempted. According to the governor, sitting down with criminals would send the wrong message and undermine the authority of the state.
