Vice presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has expressed gratitude after being received by a large crowd of supporters during a stopover in Bichi Local Government, Kano State.
Kwankwaso, who had earlier paid a condolence visit to the family of late Major General Rabe Abubakar in Katsina, stopped at the NDC headquarters in Bichi on Wednesday, where a mammoth crowd gathered to welcome him.
In a video clip circulating online, supporters thronged the party office, chanting and waving banners in solidarity with the former Kano governor and leader of the Kwankwassiyya Movement.
Reacting on his Facebook page, Kwankwaso wrote:“Returning from Katsina tonight, I was overwhelmed by the joyful and energetic reception from the good people of Bichi, Kano State. Thank you for the tremendous love.”
The event highlights Kwankwaso’s enduring grassroots support in Kano, a state seen as pivotal in shaping the NDC’s momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
