Ahead of this Saturday’s bye-election in Ondo South Senatorial District, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has called on voters to conduct themselves peacefully to elect Dayo Faduyile of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recall that the Ondo South Senatorial seat became vacant in June 2026 following the appointment of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, who spoke at the party’s grand finale campaign rally in Okitipupa on Thursday, described Faduyile as the best candidate to represent the district in the Senate.
According to him, Faduyile possesses the experience and capacity required to effectively champion the interests of the people of Ondo South in the upper legislative chamber.
The governor, represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, noted that the district had previously been represented by “an egghead” in the person of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim and stressed that the people could not afford to lower the standard
