The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is intensifying efforts to rally support from Nigerians living abroad as part of its strategy to secure President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 presidential polls.
According to reports, the United States chapter of the APC has taken a leading role in this mobilisation drive, calling on members of the Nigerian diaspora to actively back the President’s second-term ambition. The party views the diaspora as a critical bloc, valued for their influence, remittances, advocacy potential, and ability to shape international perceptions of the administration’s performance.
This latest push aligns with broader APC preparations for the 2027 elections. The party has already announced the recruitment of millions of polling unit officials nationwide and is leveraging various support groups, including the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, to build grassroots momentum.
