
Ahead of Saturday’s senatorial by-election in Nasarawa North Senatorial District, the campaign organisation of former Inspector-General of Police Abubakar Adamu has endorsed former Minister of Information Labaran Maku, the Labour Party candidate.
The endorsement was announced on Thursday by the Counter and Mobilisation Committee of the Abubakar Adamu 2027 campaign organisation during a meeting with Maku in Akwanga.
Speaking at the meeting, the committee chairman, Isa Nathaniel, said Maku emerged as the preferred candidate after consultations with stakeholders.
The senatorial seat became vacant following the death of Senator Godiya Akwashiki after a prolonged illness.
Nathaniel described Maku as the most qualified candidate for the position, citing his political experience and support across Akwanga, Wamba and Nasarawa Eggon local government areas.
