A 26-year-old lawyer, Sarah Araba Tettey, has died after reportedly collapsing while celebrating Ghana’s victory over Panama at the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
According to Ghanaian news outlet, Citi Newsroom, the incident occurred on Wednesday at Standard Hostel, a private hostel in Bomso near the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Tettey, an alumna of the university’s Faculty of Law, was said to have been watching the match with friends when she suddenly collapsed during post-match celebrations.
She was reportedly rushed to a hospital, where medical personnel made efforts to revive her, but she was later pronounced dead.
According to the report, Tettey was called to the Ghana Bar earlier this year and was practising with O & A Legal Consult.
