JUST IN: Former APC board chairman joins Labour Party

The Labour Party (LP) in Abia has announced that Nduka Anyanwu, a former member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has defected to the party.

In a statement on Friday, Emenike Iroegbu, publicity secretary of the Labour Party in Abia, said members of the party’s state working committee visited Anyanwu following his decision to join the LP.

According to the statement, Anyanwu is a former governing board chairman of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) and one of the founding members of the APC in Abia and Nigeria.

Speaking during the visit, Anyanwu said no individual persuaded him to leave the APC, noting that his decision was informed by what he described as visible development under the administration of Alex Otti, governor of Abia.
