The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has cautioned Corps Members against participating in partisan political activities, urging them instead to focus on entrepreneurship, financial literacy and national integration during their service year.
Olakunle Nafiu, director-general of the NYSC, gave the warning while addressing the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Corps Members at the Lagos State Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja.
According to a statement issued in Abuja by Caroline Embu, director of Information and Public Relations, the NYSC boss stressed that the scheme remains an apolitical organisation and, therefore, Corps Members must not engage in political campaigns, rallies or any activity capable of identifying them with a political party.
“Do not get involved in the campaign of any political party. Don’t mix NYSC with politics. You should stay clear of politics,” Nafiu said.
