The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State has called on Governor Alex Otti to openly state his political allegiance ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a statement issued Friday, Uche Aguoru, the party’s publicity secretary, accused Otti who is a member of the Labour Party of attempting to balance ties with President Bola Tinubu’s administration while retaining support from Peter Obi’s political base and the Obidient Movement.
Aguoru contrasted Otti’s stance with that of Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who has publicly declared support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“Whether one agrees with Soludo or not, he has demonstrated political courage, honesty and consistency,” Aguoru said.
The APC spokesman alleged that Otti deliberately avoided acknowledging federal government projects in Abia, including during the Renewed Hope National Media Tour, and accused him of presenting some federal interventions as state achievements.
