Social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has confirmed that he received an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The development follows a complaint submitted to the anti-graft agency by legal practitioner Blessing Agbomhere of Blessing Agbomhere & Partners.
The petition requests a comprehensive investigation into the financial activities, sponsorship arrangements, and funding channels of both VeryDarkMan and activist-lawyer Deji Adeyanju.
Reacting to the investigation via his Instagram page, VeryDarkMan claimed the probe is a calculated attempt to silence dissenting voices in the country. He alleged that members of the ruling All Progressives Congress used legal channels to initiate the inquiry in order to suppress public criticism of the current administration’s shortcomings.
In his social media update, VeryDarkMan wrote, “(THEY WANT TO STOP US FROM SPEAKING AGAINST THIS EVIL GOVERNMENT THAT HAVE FAILED TO PROTECT THE LIVES OF NIGERIANS,SO THEY USED THEIR PEOPLE TO WRITE PETITIONS)”.
