Technical failures disrupt Ado-Ekiti polling unit

Technical glitches have slowed the voting process at a major polling station in the Ekiti State capital, leaving scores of voters frustrated despite an early and orderly start to the governorship election. At Polling Unit 018, located in the open space in front of the Federal Polytechnic in Ado-Ekiti, electorate members faced significant delays due to the intermittent failure of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices.

The station, which registers a sizeable electorate of 884 voters, opened on time, with locals confirming that accreditation and voting commenced promptly at 08:30 local time. However, by late morning, the mechanical consistency of the process had broken down.
