
Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima has said the late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, mother of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, continues to serve Nigeria through the values and leadership qualities she instilled in her son.
Shettima said this while representing Tinubu at the Annual Grand Prayer Session held in honour of the late Iyaloja-General of Nigeria at the National Mosque in Abuja on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
He described the president’s late mother as a woman whose influence transcended her family and helped shape the nation’s moral imagination.
The revered market leader died on June 15, 2013, at the age of 96.
According to Shettima, her leadership was measured not by noise but by “the lives she lifted and the institutions she strengthened.”
