
The Yoruba Council of Elders on Monday declared its support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
The council, in a statement issued by its Secretary-General, Dipo Oyewole, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, cited what it described as the administration’s commitment to economic reforms, infrastructure development and national stability.
It said its decision was informed by an assessment of the Tinubu administration’s performance since assuming office in May 2023, arguing that the policies being implemented, though difficult, were beginning to yield positive results for the country.
The council said it had carefully reviewed developments in the country and concluded that continuity in leadership would be in the best interest of Nigeria.
