
The Ondo State branch of the Nigerian Medical Association has urged the newly elected Senator Francis Faduyile to provide quality representation of his people in the upper chamber.
Faduyile, a candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress and former National President of the Nigeria Medical Association, was declared the winner of Saturday’s bye-election in Ondo South Senatorial District.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission, Faduyile polled 68,474 votes to defeat Adeolu Akinwunmi of the Allied People’s Movement, who scored 1,411 votes. Adesanya Olaoluwa of Action People’s Party and Clement Funso-Nejo of Boot Party recorded 213 and 70 votes, respectively.
In a statement jointly issued on Monday by the Chairman and Secretary of the Ondo NMA, Dr Alonge Olumuyiwa and Dr Olaopa Gideon, respectively, the association congratulated the senator-elect on the victory at the poll and charged him to exhibit dedication, professionalism and his passion for excellence in the Senate.
