
Former Governor of Delta State Ifeanyi Okowa visited the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission office on Awolowo Road in Lagos to obtain his international passport.
POLITICS NIGERIA reported that the former governor was on Monday seen at the commission’s Lagos office as part of the ongoing investigation into his case.
Sources within the anti-graft agency stated that the visit was part of his efforts to retrieve the travel document to enable him to travel abroad to attend to ongoing medical issues.
“No, he was not arrested; he was at the commission’s Lagos office as part of the ongoing investigation into his case. Also, he made moves to secure the release of his international passport to attend to some medical issues abroad,” The Punch Newspaper quoted a source.
Despite these details, it remains unclear whether the former governor succeeded in obtaining the travel document before leaving the office.
