Osun APC Petitions IGP Over Alleged Political Killings, Demands Action

The Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council has called on the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to ensure the arrest and prosecution of all individuals allegedly connected to political killings in the state.

The demand was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by Oluremi Omowaiye, Head of the Media and Publicity Committee of the campaign council.

The council also accused the Director-General of the Imole Campaign Council, Senator Lere Oyewumi, of attempting to shift public attention from past political killings involving APC chieftains, through what it described as a planned protest over the killing of a 14-year-old boy, Ezekiel Olopade, in Ilobu, Irepodun Local Government Area.

Omowaiye alleged that Oyewumi was seeking to use the tragedy as a distraction from allegations linking him to earlier political violence in Irewole Local Government Area.
