The Sokoto State Government has commended security agencies for recording fresh successes in the fight against banditry across the state, while mourning five security personnel who lost their lives in separate operations.
The Special Adviser on Security Matters to Governor Ahmed Aliyu, retired Col. Ahmed Usman, said recent operations by the military, police and other security agencies had dealt significant blows to criminal groups, leading to the rescue of kidnapped victims and the neutralisation of several bandits.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Usman described the achievements as a reflection of the courage, resilience and commitment of security operatives working to restore peace in troubled communities.
“The recent operational successes recorded by our security agencies are encouraging and demonstrate their unwavering determination to protect lives and secure our communities,” he said.
He urged security agencies to sustain the momentum and intensify ongoing offensives against criminal elements threatening peace and stability
