It was a sobering moment of tears, anguish and emotional scenes as the remains of late Aminu-Sanda Falanta were laid to rest at the Christian burial ground in Gombe, amid renewed calls for justice over the circumstances surrounding his death.
Speaking during the burial, the Chairman of the Gombe State Christian Association, Joseph Shinga, urged mourners to remain calm and allow the law to take its course.
“May God comfort us all. We’ve heard everything. Please be patient and be comforted. God sees everything, and He will be the one to avenge for us,” Shinga said.
He also prayed for sympathisers who travelled from neighbouring states to attend the funeral.
“Parents who came from afar, especially those from Bauchi, Kano and other states, may God take each and every one of you back to your destinations safely. Thank you very much. The death of Falanta is very painful to us,”
