
The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has pitched Nigeria as a prime destination for climate and green economy investments, urging international financiers and development partners to take advantage of emerging opportunities across renewable energy, agriculture, transportation and climate-resilient infrastructure.
Speaking on Wednesday at the Nigeria Climate Investment Summit, a flagship event of the London Climate Action Week, Kalu said Nigeria’s transition to a green economy presents practical and bankable opportunities capable of delivering strong returns while addressing climate and development challenges.
The summit, themed “Catalysing Nigeria’s Climate Policy Progress into Financial Flows for Green Projects,” brought together policymakers, investors and climate finance stakeholders in London, United Kingdom.
Addressing participants, the Deputy Speaker outlined key sectors open for investment, including renewable energy, climate-smart agriculture, clean transportation, waste management and adaptation infrastructure.
