Students urge to embrace importance of practical learning, technological innovation

Sulyman Babatunde Abdulkareem, Chairman of the Kwara State Geographic Information Service (KWGIS), has urged students to embrace practical learning and technological innovation as essential tools for building successful careers in land administration and geospatial management.

Abdulkareem gave the advice while addressing 100 and 300-level students of the University of Ilorin on an educational excursion to the agency’s headquarters in Ilorin, Kwara State.

In a statement signed by Rowland Olonishuwa, Press Secretary of KWGIS, students who are studying Land Information System and Land Law were in KWGIS to gain first-hand experience in land digitisation processes and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) operations.

Addressing the students, the KWGIS Chairman described GIS technology as a transformative tool that continues to reshape land administration, urban planning, property management, and infrastructure development across the world.
