Police arrest eight over theft, violent attack in Yobe

The Yobe State Police Command has arrested eight suspects over alleged theft, violent assault and drug-related offences in separate operations across the state.

‎The command said the arrests were made by operatives in Bursari, Damaturu and Nguru Local Government Areas as part of ongoing efforts to tackle criminal activities.

‎The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.

Abdulkarim noted that the operations also led to the recovery of stolen items, including a motorcycle and other exhibits.

‎According to the statement, operatives attached to the Garin Alkali Division arrested a 25-year-old suspect, Musa Musa, for allegedly stealing building materials meant for the renovation of Daskum Primary School in Bursari LGA.

‎Abdulkarim said the suspect was intercepted along the Gashua Road while transporting the stolen items, including iron rods, from the school premises.

‎He added that a black TVS motorcycle allegedly used in carrying out the crime was recovered,
