The Anambra State Police Command has debunked a viral social media alert claiming that a military helicopter dropped unknown objects in a bush between Nimo and Adazi-Nnukwu communities in Anaocha Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the command described the circulating security alert as false and capable of causing unnecessary public panic while eroding confidence in the state’s security apparatus.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said tactical teams were swiftly deployed to the alleged location immediately after the rumour surfaced online. “Following the report, the command immediately deployed operatives to the area for verification and assessment. So far, findings revealed that the alleged location remains calm, with no suspicious objects or any security concerns observed,” the statement read.
