Labour Party grew under my leadership, says Abure

Julius Abure, factional national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), says the party experienced its most significant growth under his leadership.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Friday, Abure rejected allegations that he was working with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to weaken the Labour Party, adding that his support for Peter Obi’s presidential ambition contradicted such claims.

Abure said his leadership played a central role in transforming the Labour Party from a fringe political platform into a major force in national politics.

“The party rose in my time. I gave free tickets to people, looked for credible Nigerians to run on the platform of the party,” he said.

“You will agree with me that the party became big in my time. I promoted the party, spent my time, spent my energy, spent my resources, gave people free tickets, and promoted them.”
