Mr Afolabi Orekoya, the media aide to the Peoples Democratic Party’s 2027 governorship candidate in Ogun State, Oladipupo Adebutu, has dismissed claims by an All Progressives Congress chieftain, Kayode Oladele, that the PDP has lost relevance in the state, describing the assertion as a reflection of the ruling party’s “desperation” to foist itself on the people of the state during next year’s election.

Orekoya said that it is uncharitable, mere bootlicking and cheap propaganda for Oladele to have said that the opposition party is no longer the choice of the people of the state and wondered when the APC chieftain became the spokesperson for the residents of the state.

Adebutu’s spokesperson disclosed this in a statement on Friday while reacting to Oladele’s recent comment that the PDP, due to its protracted internal leadership wrangling, has lost its electoral value and is no longer the party of choice for the people
