2027: Kwankwaso Welcomes APC Defectors into NDC in Kano

Vice presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabi’u Kwankwaso, has formally received defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the NDC and the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

Among those welcomed was Danlami Zakari Unguwar Gertai (Garkuwan Gari) of Gari Local Government Area, Kano State, who arrived with a large group of supporters.

The delegation was received at Kwankwaso’s residence along Miller Road, Kano, where they pledged loyalty to the movement’s vision for a better Nigeria.

The group announced the development via social media, emphasizing the defectors’ commitment to strengthening the movement.

The move came just 24 hours after INEC published credentials of Kwankwaso and NDC’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, ahead of the 2027 elections.

Both Kwankwaso and Obi contested the 2023 elections under different parties before joining APC, and later defecting to NDC due to internal divisions and legal disputes.
