The Lagos State chapter of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) has declared Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, as the most suitable presidential candidate for the opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Monday, APM State Publicity Secretary, Ayodele Kazeem, said the party’s endorsement was based on Makinde’s leadership record, governance style, and performance rather than political sentiment.
“APM Lagos firmly believes that if the opposition is truly committed to presenting Nigerians with a credible alternative in 2027, then Governor Seyi Makinde stands out as the most qualified, competent and unifying candidate,” Kazeem stated.
He highlighted Makinde’s achievements in Oyo State, including investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, and security, alongside improved fiscal management and economic growth. According to him, Makinde has consistently demonstrated that governance can deliver visible results while maintaining fiscal discipline.
