Some members of the Oyo State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, have appealed to the national leadership of the party to, without wasting more time, wade into the crisis rocking the party in the state.
The members made the appeal in a petition addressed to the national leadership of the party.
The petition was made available to DAILY POST in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Wednesday.
The members, in the petition, called on the national leadership of the party to investigate a series of allegations levelled against the state chairman, Mrs Oyeronke Akinlolu.
The aggrieved members, in the petition, explained that the actions of the state chairman are inimical to the progress and development of the party.
The aggrieved NDC members, in the petition signed by their spokesman, Engineer Oshiariyo Stephen Adeyinka, noted that the need to wade into the crisis is necessary to ensure unity and stability in the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Adeyinka, in the statement, explained that the petition was written in the interest of the party.
The aggrieved members, in the statement, enjoined the national leadership of the party to institute an independent investigation into the allegations levelled against the chairman.
They advised the leadership of the party to introduce measures capable of restoring unity in the party.
Adeyinka alleged that over 50 members of the party were arbitrarily removed from the party’s official WhatsApp platform without any justification.
He then used the opportunity to call on the national leadership
