I have watched the way Nigerians cash out Bitcoin change completely in the last three years. We went from hiding in P2P chats and praying the buyer was not a scammer, to opening an app, sending BTC, and seeing an alert before the kettle boils.
The numbers back it up. Nigeria received over $92 billion in crypto between July 2024 and June 2025, which puts the country sixth in the world and first in Sub-Saharan Africa on the Chainalysis Global Crypto Adoption Index. Most of that money is not big companies. It is regular people sending, saving and cashing out.
