FG arraigns three suspects linked to Oriire school abduction

The Federal Government has arraigned three men before the Federal High Court in Abuja over their alleged involvement in the abduction of pupils and teachers from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The suspects, Abdulrazak Umar, Yunusa Musa and Shamsu Adamu Sani.

The defendants are facing 10 charges, including terrorism, kidnapping, incitement and illegal mining, while prosecutors also allege links to the proscribed terrorist group Ansaru through Darul Salam.

According to the prosecution, the defendants allegedly conspired with other suspects between January and May 2026 to kidnap schoolchildren and teachers.

They are also accused of withholding information about the alleged masterminds behind the abduction.

The charge further alleges that the suspects professed membership of Darul Salam, a group prosecutors say is affiliated with the proscribed terrorist organisation Ansaru.

Prosecutors also accused Abdulrazak Umar of using a WhatsApp group to provide instructions and training
