
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has said the reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu are laying the foundation for Nigeria’s long-term prosperity and will secure the country’s future.
Akume, represented by his Senior Assistant (Technical), Prof. Babatunde Bolaji Benard, stated this on Tuesday at a one-day conference on the development of the North-Central region under the Renewed Hope Agenda in Abuja.
He said although some of the administration’s policies might not produce immediate results, they were necessary to reposition the country for sustainable growth.
“The President is a trailblazer. He is taking decisions that may not produce instant results, but they are the kind of reforms that will secure Nigeria’s future,” he said.
Benard likened the ongoing reforms to cooking beans, noting that while the process requires patience, the outcome would be rewarding.
