The Federal Government on Wednesday launched the YOUTHCRED for Entrepreneurs initiative, targeting 500,000 young entrepreneurs with loans of between N200,000 and N2 million to expand access to finance and support business growth across the country.

The scheme, unveiled in Abuja, is designed to bridge the financing gap facing young business owners by providing affordable credit to help them start, sustain and scale their enterprises.

Speaking at the launch, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, described the initiative as a strategic intervention to unlock the entrepreneurial potential of young Nigerians and accelerate economic growth through inclusive access to credit.

He said the programme reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to building a more inclusive economy where young people are equipped not only with skills and ideas but also with the financial support needed to transform those ideas into thriving businesses.
