The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has unveiled a training programme for its zonal officers on the use of dollar debit cards ahead of the 2027 Hajj.
The initiative is in response to new regulations introduced by the Saudi Arabian authorities for this year’s Hajj, as directed by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
Speaking while declaring the training open on Wednesday at the board’s headquarters in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, the Director-General of the board, Ahmad Labbo, said early preparation is key to a smooth Hajj operation.
He stated that the training, which is the first of its kind, was conducted in collaboration with Guaranty Trust Bank.
According to him, the workshop is aimed at equipping officers with the knowledge and skills needed to guide intending pilgrims under the newly introduced payment system.
“Early preparation is very important to ensure efficiency and guarantee a successful Hajj operation,” Labbo
