The presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, on Tuesday attended the Service of Songs held in Lagos in honour of the late Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour, the mother of African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain and Lagos governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
Obi’s appearance at the event comes weeks after the passing of Rhodes-Vivour’s mother was announced, and follows criticism from some supporters on social media who had accused the former Anambra State governor of remaining silent over the bereavement.
Speaking during the service, Obi reflected on the loss and paid tribute to the deceased while urging those present to live upright lives.
