Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have foiled multiple kidnap attempts and rescued the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, Dr. Aminu Yusuf, along with several other victims during separate operations in Zamfara State.
The military disclosed this in a statement issued on X on Tuesday by the Media Information Officer of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja.
The statement added that the first incident occurred in the early hours of July 28 when troops responded to a distress call reporting terrorist activities around Tsohon-Tasha Street in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area.
Danja said the attackers had invaded the residence of the rector, killing his private security guard and injuring another resident before attempting to abduct Dr. Yusuf and members of his family.
