Beyond expansion of Army Divisions
A few days ago, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the creation of additional four Army Divisions- Makurdi (Benue), Ilorin (Kwara), Jalingo (Taraba) and Benin City (Edo). The new divisions brought the number to twelve.
The aims, the President said, were to improve command and control, decentralise operational decision-making, strengthen border security, enhance the protection of critical national infrastructure, bolster counter-insurgency and internal security operations, and ensure a faster military response to emerging threats across the country.
