Kogi State NUT described kidnapping as an embarrassment , threat to education sector

The Kogi State wing of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has joined other voices condemning the wave of kidnappings across the country, describing the situation as a national embarrassment and a threat to the education sector.

Abaypmi Ayoola , the state chairman of the union, Comrade made the position known on Tuesday during a peaceful protest in Lokoja, where teachers from the three senatorial districts of Kogi State gathered to express concern over the worsening insecurity.

Ayoola said the education community is deeply saddened by the increasing cases of abductions, particularly the recent kidnapping of teachers and pupils in Oyo State , as he called on the Federal Government to intensify efforts to secure the release of all captives and strengthen the nation’s security architecture.
