Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has launched a solar-powered campus tricycle shuttle service to provide affordable transportation, improve mobility and enhance security for staff and students.
The shuttle service was inaugurated at the university’s Senate Building by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Muhammed Suleiman Audu, alongside the Vice-Chancellor, Salisu Ogbo Usman, principal officers, staff, students and members of the Tricycle Operators Association of Nigeria (TOAN).
Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor described the initiative as a significant step towards improving the welfare of the university community through accessible, affordable and environmentally friendly transportation.

He said: “The solar-powered tricycles will provide a cheaper means of commuting within the campus while complementing the operations of commercial motorcycle riders as part of efforts to strengthen security and ease movement”.
