A new report on Africa’s communications and public relations (PR) industry has proposed the ARC Model, which offers a practical framework designed for global and regional PR associations.
The model is the acronym for accessibility, relevance and collaboration (ARC), aimed at addressing the barriers and structural challenges faced by young PR professionals across Africa.
The report, ‘Impact Beyond Borders: Expanding Global Access for Young African Communicators,’ offers an evidence‑based blueprint for transforming access, equity, and representation for young professionals across Africa’s communications and PR industry.
Currently, Sub-Saharan Africa is home to the world’s youngest population, with 70% of its people under the age of 30.
However, the continent’s early-career PR and communications professionals face systematic structural barriers that hinder their ability to access global training, certification, and career advancement.
The research, sponsored by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Research Fund, was authored by Adedoyin Jaiyesimi, strategic communications advisor
