Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has said President Bola Tinubu’s counter-terrorism measures are inadequate.
According to him, the government’s inadequate counter-terrorism framework is the reason for persistent attacks across the country.
He disclosed this in a statement by his spokesperson, Prank Shaibu on Thursday.
Recall that in the last months, insecurity attacks have persisted nationwide.
Several pupils and teachers in Oyo and Borno states were abducted by suspected bandits in May.
While the Nigerian government and security agencies had assured citizens of efforts to tackle insecurity, the menace had continued.
Reacting, Atiku stressed that Nigeria’s current counterterrorism framework is failing to evolve as rapidly as the threats it was designed to defeat.
“The terrorists are learning from every attack. They study their successes and failures. They refine their tactics. They identify vulnerabilities. They adapt and strike again.
