LP calls NEC meeting to ratify 2027 election candidates

The Labour Party has summoned a meeting of its National Executive Committee for June 11 to ratify the results of its recently concluded primary elections and approve the submission of candidates for the 2027 general elections to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The party disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa.

Asogwa said the NEC meeting, convened in line with Article 28 of the party’s 2026 Constitution, will bring together statutory members of the committee, candidates who emerged from the primaries, party organs, INEC representatives, members of the media, and other stakeholders.

He added that the meeting would formally validate the outcomes of primaries conducted across the country and authorise the submission of the names of successful candidates to INEC in accordance with the Electoral Act and the party’s constitution.
