Jeremiah Umaru, the lawmaker representing Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing disillusionment with the party’s recent primary elections.
Umaru, popularly known as Jakadan Wamba, announced his departure in a letter dated May 28, 2026, addressed to the APC Chairman of Gitta Ward in Wamba Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.
In the letter, he expressed disappointment over what he described as the erosion of fairness, transparency, justice, and internal democracy within the party.
He noted that the conduct of the primaries had undermined his confidence in the APC’s commitment to credible and inclusive democratic practices.
