The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Omar Suleiman, has refuted claims that he has withdrawn from the 2027 race.
Speculation about his exit surfaced on Friday following the defection of Babachir Lawal, a key supporter and factional leader of the ADC in the state.
Babachir, who accused fellow factional leader and presidential aspirant Atiku Abubakar of manipulating the party’s primaries, announced his departure earlier in the week.
In a statement issued by his aide, Abdullahi Malgwi, Suleiman described the reports of his withdrawal as “false, misleading, and entirely baseless.”
He urged supporters, party members, and the people of Adamawa to disregard the speculation.
“I remain fully committed to my campaign, my vision, and my unwavering determination to serve the people of Adamawa State,” Suleiman affirmed.
