Political commentator Imran Wakili has claimed that President Bola Tinubu has repeatedly acted without consequences and could even “write his own election result” in 2027 without facing any challenge.
In a post on X on Thursday, Wakili listed what he described as instances of constitutional violations that the President had gotten away with.
These included the suspension of a sitting governor, the continued detention of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai for 170 days over a bailable offence (with 50 of those days without any public explanation), and the reported freezing of Osun State Government’s accounts.
“Bola Tinubu suspended a sitting governor, and nothing happened. He got away with it, regardless of what the Constitution says,” Wakili wrote.
“Bola Tinubu is keeping El-Rufai in detention for 170 days over a bailable offence… and he has gotten away with it, regardless of what the Constitution says.“
