The newly inaugurated Minister of Power, Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, on Monday assured Nigerians that visible improvements would continue to emerge in the electricity sector, saying the Federal Government had already begun implementing reforms aimed at addressing long-standing challenges in power generation, transmission and distribution.

Speaking shortly after his swearing-in ceremony held at the State House, Tegbe said his administration had moved swiftly since receiving Senate confirmation, engaging critical stakeholders across the electricity value chain and developing a structured reform strategy focused on execution, accountability and measurable outcomes.

The minister, who expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for entrusting him with the portfolio, said the administration was determined to deliver reliable and affordable electricity to Nigerians while maintaining transparency about the pace of progress.

According to him, the government has already recorded early successes through the revival of dormant generation assets, expansion of transmission infrastructure and stronger consumer protection measures.
