
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed concern over the recent wave of political violence reported in several parts of the state.
This is as he commiserated with citizens who have suffered injuries, losses and trauma.
Oyebamiji’s statement is coming after shootings were reported in some parts of Osun State on Tuesday.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Oyebamiji said his thoughts and prayers were with the victims, their families and loved ones, while wishing those injured a speedy recovery.
The APC candidate described the incidents as unfortunate and reiterated his commitment to democratic principles, stressing that elections should be decided through the ballot box rather than violence.
“Democracy is a contest of ideas, vision and service to the people. There is no political office, including the office of Governor, that is worth the blood of any human being.”
