Insecurity: You may live in regret like Jonathan – Frank TieTie to Tinubu

A lawyer, Frank TieTie has called on the presidency and the Military to stop what he described as the empty condemnations when Nigerians are abducted or killed by terrorists.

According to him, the presidency should either learn from former presidents Goodluck Jonathan, who, according to him, showed helplessness when similar national security situation happened under his watch or Olusegun Obasanjo, who confronted any form of insecurity squarely.

DAILY POST reported that the Defence Headquarters, DHQs, on Saturday mourned the passing of Major General Rabe Abubakar, retd, who lost his life in captivity following his abduction by terrorists.

The presidency regretted the death of Abubakar and promised to take decisive actions to secure the release of hundreds of Nigerians currently held by terrorists.

TieTie, while appearing on Arise News, said he perceives some signs of weakness from the presidency, adding, “There are things that can be done which are not rocket science, yet little is being done about them while leaders continue to make reassuring statements.

“I would urge the President to look at recent history under former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former President Goodluck Jonathan.

“Obasanjo was firm and proactive in addressing insecurity, and there was a strong sense of state authority. People feared the Nigerian state because they believed there would be consequences for wrongdoing, and that sense of accountability was clearly present.
“And not only the military, the presidency should stop this unnecessary useless jingoism about condemnation about resolution, and doing nothing, I don’t want to be angry on national television.
