Nigeria’s ports have been ranked among the 20 most improved ports in the world, according to the World Bank’s 2025 Container Port Performance Index (CPPI), released in June 2026.

The report showed that Tin Can Island Port ranked 10th, while Apapa Port ranked 12th among the world’s most improved ports.
Reacting to the ranking, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Abubakar Dantsoho, said the achievement was made possible through increased investment in port infrastructure by the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
