Real Madrid confirm signing of Bernardo Silva on two-year contract

Real Madrid have completed the signing of Portugal midfielder Bernardo Silva on a two-year contract, the Spanish giants announced on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old joins Los Blancos as a free agent after leaving Manchester City at the end of last season, bringing to a close a trophy-laden nine-year spell at the Premier League club.

Silva’s contract at the Santiago Bernabéu will run until June 30, 2028.

End of an era at Manchester City

Silva departs City after making 459 appearances and scoring 76 goals since arriving from Monaco in 2017.

During his time under Pep Guardiola, he established himself as one of the most versatile and influential midfielders in Europe, helping City win 15 major trophies.

His honours include four consecutive Premier League titles between 2021 and 2024, the historic Treble in 2023, and a clean sweep of the four major domestic trophies during the 2018/19 campaign.
