The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has released its Code of Conduct, affirming that its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, retains exclusive authority to appoint and dissolve the Directorate of State (DOS), the group’s apex administrative body.
The clarification comes amid internal crisis following Kanu’s dissolution of the Chika Edoziem-led 3rd Administration and the appointment of a new DOS headed by Chris Nwaogu.
Edoziem had responded by announcing Kanu’s suspension as leader, a move IPOB has dismissed as “illegal, null and void.”
In a statement issued by IPOB spokesman Emma Powerful, the group stressed that its Code of Conduct vests the power of appointments and dismissals solely in Kanu.
“The power to appoint, suspend or dismiss erring principal officers vests exclusively on the leader of IPOB, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” the statement read.
