How capacity building is reshaping policing, security in Niger State

In an era where criminal activities are becoming increasingly sophisticated, effective policing requires more than bravery and routine patrols. It demands intelligence, technology, scientific investigation, and continuous professional development.

Recognising this reality, the Niger State Police Command is taking deliberate but steps to redefine policing through capacity building, equipping officers with modern investigative skills needed to tackle contemporary security challenges.

This commitment was recently demonstrated through a two-day intensive training programme on forensic and fraud investigation held at the Police Officers’ Mess in Minna.

The workshop brought together officers from Area Commands, Divisions, and specialized investigative units across the state, creating a platform for knowledge exchange and professional growth.

The training, organised by the Niger State Police Command in partnership with HRH Erelu – Pearl Chidinma Ogbulu, focused on strengthening officers’ competence in forensic analysis, crime scene management, financial fraud investigation, and other critical aspects of modern law enforcement.
